| In Dialogue with our Fluid Origin
Context: An enormous landscape of somatic discovery emerges when we shift our attention to our fluid body. Not just outer space is a human frontier – the experience of inner space leaves much to be discovered as well. We carry about two thirds of water in our bodies. The same planetary ratio of surface landmass to ocean water can be found inside of us. Life emerged from the environment of water and has it's own intelligence that forms and maintains life. Water memorizes that which it comes in contact with. Encompassing all species, water holds life’s inFORMation, keeping alive the data of the history of evolution. We carry the story of a huge planetary process in our cells. Cognitively, this becomes clear when we take a look at the development of an embryo. But continuum is not primarily about cognition. It is about conscious experience.
Content: By bringing our awareness to the fluids in our soft tissue we can gradually tune into the subtlety of the body as a living event, an ongoing orchestration of internal communication and resonance. We not only DO movement, we ARE movement. The language of the water is wave motion expressed in spiraling, curling and pulsating micro and macro movements. We stimulate the fluid in us through breath and sound and explore various angles in relationship to gravity. We take enough time to slow down to listen to the internal rhythms and sensations beneath our usual everyday levels of awareness. This encourages the body to show its treasures and its wisdom.
Result: When we meet ourselves in this way – outside our usual thought and movement patterns – the flexible, adaptable and variable nature of our fluid origin can show itself. This increases our capacity for smooth and grounded mobility, decreases movement limitations and pain and improves allover health and wellbeing. Trust, contentment, joy, new perspectives and creativity arise and enrich our personal and professional life. Appropriate for those who want to experience their wholeness through the body.
